Join WMMBA, Win A Spot In Your Favorite Events!

Becoming an Ally does a lot, but in 2019, we’re making a big effort to ensure that it does a lot for you. Throughout the year, we’ll be offering up a number of Ally Perks that make being a card-carrying Ally a big deal; discounts at local bike shops, restaurants, and other WMMBA partners, access to specials, and the chance to hop into your favorite events for free. This year, we’ll be giving away free entries to WMMBA events like Skirts in the Dirt and the Trifecta Tour to current WMMBA Allies! Roughly a month before these events, we’ll select a couple of Allies to enter the events for free, giving you another reason to join as an individual or family. Skirts in the Dirt has served as an invaluable, fun, and pioneering event that gets women on bikes. There really isn’t anything else like it in the state! All ages, abilities, and interest levels are welcome, and the Skirts in the Dirt crew also host weekly rides to help more ladies get comfortable on the bike and in the singletrack all season long. They also have taken the reins on a Wahlfield Trail Day that ensures everything is in prime shape before race day on August 17. The Trifecta Tour isn’t a race, but it’s nothing to sniff at, either! Taking place the first weekend after Labor Day, it serves as a bright and sunny bridge between summer and fall. Starting and finishing at Townsend Park, riders can opt between three different distances that include rides at three different WMMBA trail networks. The longest ride racks up 50 miles included between the trails and pavement sections connecting them all. Once back at Townsend, everyone relaxes with great beer and delicious food, and all to support the trails we just enjoyed! We’re always looking for ways to add value to what we bring to our community, our trails, and our Allies. We see this particular Ally perk as a way to thank a few folks a year and possibly introduce them to a new trail, a new event, and some new riders that they may not have had a chance to quite yet. There are plenty of more things coming down the pipe as we roll into spring, so stay tuned to wmmba.org and keep up with us on Facebook and Instagram. And, of course, join us!
