Trail builders continue to make great progress toward our anticipated Grand Opening at Johnson Park. Current focus areas include the inner green adaptive loop and the main trailhead access near the parking lot. Every day, the vision for Johnson is taking shape into what will become a premier mountain bike destination for riders of all abilities.
If you visit the trail corridor from the scenic drive, please respect all trail closure signage and active heavy equipment operations. These closures help ensure builders can stay focused on creating the best trail experience possible while keeping all park users safe.
We have included an updated project map showing current construction progress. The map highlights:
- Areas that have been laid out and flagged
- Sections that have been roughed in with the first pass of equipment
- Trail segments that are beginning to take shape toward finished singletrack
Our fundraising campaign also remains active. Thanks to incredible community support, we successfully raised the funding needed for an additional two miles of trail — meaning Johnson Park will now feature 8 miles of trail instead of the originally planned 6 miles.
As we move closer to opening day, we are continuing to raise funds for a long-term Johnson Park trail maintenance endowment to help ensure the trail system remains sustainable and enjoyable for years to come.
