Johnson Park Trail Project Update & Upcoming Community Events

There’s a lot happening at Johnson Park, and we’re excited to celebrate this incredible community project!

Two Days to Celebrate!

Friday, October 23 | 1:00 PM — Official Ribbon Cutting

Join us as we celebrate with the community partners who helped make this awesome trail system possible! (Kent County Parks, Grand River Network, Kent County Parks Foundation, Spectrum Trail Design) We’ll cut the ribbon and enjoy a community ride featuring 6 fully finished miles of singletrack and one polished, ready-to-ride jump line.

The full 8-mile project, including all three jump lines, will be rideable, but final finishing work will continue through Spring 2027.

Saturday, October 24 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM — First Annual Johnson Park Jamboree

Can't make it Friday? No problem! We're throwing a second celebration with the perfect combination of bikes, food, and community.

This free event welcomes riders of all skill levels. Bring your bike, invite your friends, and help us celebrate the next chapter of mountain biking at Johnson Park!

Project & Construction Updates

Trail construction will continue into November, with builders focusing on the bonus two miles on the south end of the property.

As construction continues, please follow all “Do Not Ride” signage and use the scenic drive detour whenever you encounter caution tape at a trail intersection.

By October 23, we will have all trail intersections signed so riders can navigate around active construction, access other open sections, and continue enjoying the trail system.

Thank you for your patience as we put the finishing touches on this exciting project. We can't wait to ride with you!
